Anna (Ann) L. Boggess, Randolph, 98 years of age, passed away on December 30, 2011 at Robinson Memorial Hospital due to complications from a fall in her home. She was born August 8, 1913 in Ripley, WV, daughter of the late Florence and Kelly Casto. After graduating from Ripley High School at the age of 15, she moved to Akron where she met her future husband, Boyd Boggess. They were married in 1929 and lived in Akron before moving to Randolph in 1944. They were married 59 years before he died in 1989.
She is survived by her three daughters, Janet (Harold) Young, Dr. Violet Boggess, with whom she made her home; and Sally Johnson, all of Randolph, and son-in-law, Billy T. Johnson of Ravenna.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Douglas (Teri) Young of Mountain View, CA; Sandi (Denny) Thorp of Easley, SC; Sharon (Curt) Smith of Akron; William E. (Beth) Johnson of Randolph; Kathleen (Terry) Wilhelm of Randolph; Christopher (Joelle) Johnson of Bridgeport, OH; Julianna Gonzalez of Lake Wales, FL; and David Johnson of Randolph. She also leaves behind her beloved dogs, Makala and Nakita.

She leaves 18 great-grandchildren: Douglas Young of San Jose, CA; Stephanie Smith and Chad (Alison) Smith of Akron; Paul (Tanya) Wilhelm of Farmington, NM; Nick (Haley) Wilhelm of Atwater; Rebecca (Keith) Wolford of Fishers, IN; Mark Wilhelm and Andrew Wilhelm of Randolph; Amy Johnson of Suffield; Josh (Allison) Johnson of Youngstown; Sarah (Mark) Fuchs, Matthew Johnson and Charles Lindsey of Bridgeport; Joseph (Emily) Kuzma of Portland, ME; David Kuzma of Lake Wales, FL; Alisa Kuzma of Brandon, FL; Matthew Thorp and Michelle (Keith) Pruszynski of Dayton. She is also survived by 13 great-great-grandchildren. Ann was preceded in death by her brother Ray Casto.

She was a member of Randolph Christian Church, now known as the Friendship Bible Church, where she served in many capacities through the years. She was a past member of the Ladies Cemetery Association and worked on the Board of Elections for many years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and crocheting afghans for all her family and many friends. She loved reading and was doing so right up until her accident. In honor of Ann's love of reading, memorial contributions may be made to the Randolph Library, 1639 S.R. 44, Randolph, OH 44265.

The family would like to express appreciation to the Randolph EMT's, nurses and doctors at both Robinson Memorial Hospital and Akron City Hospital, as well as Hospice.

She was a "Grandma" and friend to many and especially loved being with her children and grandchildren.

Her grandson, Pastor Bill Johnson, will officiated the funeral service at the Friendship Bible Church, 1703 State Route 44, Randolph. Interment at Hillside Cemetery in Randolph.
