Rosemary Allen, 77, passed away September 2, 2010. Rosemary was born December 27, 1932, in Fort Ritner, Indiana, the daughter of the late Gus Myers and Dovie Myers Cathcart. She married C. Roscoe Allen, Jr. in 1950, and they were happily married for 60 wonderful years. She and Roscoe resided in Indianapolis until 1971, and then moved to Avon, where they lived for 38 years.

Rosemary attended Tech High School and Manual High School in Indianapolis. She was employed with the Indiana National Bank, the Key West Shrimp House and the Hyatt Regency, downtown Indianapolis. During the later years of her life, Rosemary enjoyed being a homemaker. She loved cooking and trying new recipes. Rosemary, along with Roscoe, was active in the Indianapolis Jazz Club for many years. She also enjoyed attending the annual U.S.S. Keokuk reunions with Roscoe's fellow WWII sailors and their families. Rosemary was always concerned about the welfare of homeless animals and supported local humane societies.

Rosemary is preceded in death by her brother, Art Myers; sister, Louise Hadley and sister, Mildred Clark.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Roscoe Allen; her children, her grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

The family invites friends to a celebration of Rosemary's life from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 9 at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home, State Road 135 & Olive Branch Road.

Her ashes will be interred at The Gardens at Olive Branch Cemetery in a private family service prior to the Celebration of Life.
