Clara (Cecil) Mosier was the daughter of Benjamin D. Cecil and Mary C. Chrisenberry. Clara was born in Indiana, and sometime between 1865 and 1870 her parents moved the family to Kansas to homestead. They lived in Pleasant Valley, Wilson Co. Kansas where she met George Alexander Mosier. They married 23 Oct, 1881, when she was only 16 years old. They had nine children including one set of twin girls. There were eight girls and one boy. One of the twin girls died at age 5 months from dysentery. The other lived and grew into adulthood. The names of the Children were as follows:

The Mosiers moved to Saint Joseph,Missouri, between 1888 and 1891, where they stayed the remainder of their lives. They lived at 5637 So. 1st Street, which was close to Benton High School where George worked. George died at age 61 on Jan 18, 1920.

Clara remarried a man by the name of Robert Mann sometime in about 1921. They were together until her death in 1936, but she was buried alongside George Mosier in the family plot which also contains her twin daughters, Georgia Mosier, and Opal Mosier Palmer.
