Roberta "Bert" Grace Lawson, 73, Kokomo, passed away at 3:18PM, Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Saint Joseph Hospital. She was born on May 26, 1940, in Kokomo, to the late Dallas Oscar and Mary Elizabeth (Williams) Cessna. Bert was married to Carl "Braden" Lawson. Mr. Lawson survives.
Bert attended Kokomo High School. She then worked for Delco for 30 years until retiring in 1992. She was proud to have attended the Kokomo Great Banquet #86. She enjoyed attending Women's Life Meeting. Bert liked to go to Branson, MO with her church senior group, as well as fishing, and playing golf. She was always helping with the church dinners and the Faith Weavers classes at church. Bert loved her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of In His Image Church, and the local UAW 292.
Surviving is her; Spouce; Braden Lawson; Kokomo, children; Kenneth LeRoy (Kim) Lawson, Kokomo, Carl Wayne (Tina) Lawson, Kokomo, Raymond Dean (Elizabeth) Lawson, Lebanon, Carla Sue Smith, Kokomo, step children; Crystal Livesay, ByBee, Tenn, Clinton Braden (Stacey) Lawson, Kokomo, two brothers; Ed Cessna, Sacramento, CA, David Butch (Betty) Cessna, Kokomo, IN, twelve grandchildren, six step grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one step great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM, Friday, February 14, 2014 at In His Image Church, 3017 East 100 North, Kokomo, Indiana with Pastor Brad Swain officiating. Burial will follow at Albright Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00PM until 7:00PM, Thursday, at the church. Memorial contributions may be directed to In His Image Church Building Fund.
