She was born Feb. 13, 1949, in St. Petersburg, Fla., the daughter of the late Bob Noble and Betty (Brumbaugh) Bartholomew, and was raised by her stepfather, Chuck Bartholomew.
She married Bob L. Cessna on June 22, 1974, and they shared 40 years of marriage together.
She was a graduate of Howland High School and was a homemaker. Ruth was a member of Champion Fire Auxiliary and AA. “Ruthie,” as she was known to her countless friends in Alcoholics Anonymous, was very proud of her 23 years of membership and service. She was very active, attending the international conference, participating in spiritual retreats twice a year, camping at Cook Forest, supporting her home group and opening her home to anyone who needed it. Her ever-present “I love you” will be greatly missed.
She enjoyed camping, holding family reunions, swimming at the pool, going to car shows and loved her dog, Tuffy. She enjoyed her life with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her extended family, many of whom spent time staying with her.
Ruth’s loving memory will be cherished by her husband, Bob L. Cessna of Warren; daughter Tammy (Michael) Glunt of Taylorsville, N.C.; sister Linda White of Warren; brother Chuck (Linda) Bartholomew of Greely, Colo.; grandchildren Jonta Lewis, Brandon (Kristen) Lewis, Eric (Amy) Spitzer, Greg (Nicki) Spitzer and Ashley (Chris) Wellington; and great-grandchildren Chase, Kali, Kylan, Hunter, Caroline, Devin and Alivia.
