Patricia L. Martin, 72, Kokomo, died Wednesday, July 4, 2007, at Howard Regional Health System, Kokomo. She was born Aug. 7, 1934, in Dillanville, Ohio, to Dallas O. and Mary (Willams) Cessna. On Dec. 20, 1957, at Rose O’Sharon Parsonage, Flora, she married Richard Lee “Wally” Martin, who preceded his wife in death in March 1997.
She worked at Hank’s Supermarket for 13 years and J.C. Penny’s for 10 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Friendship Class Sunday School and American Baptist Women Ministries. She was a past president of Darrough Chapel and Elwood Haynes Schools. She was active many years with the Girl Scouts of America. She enjoyed bowling, golfing and most of all, being a grandmother.
Survivors include a son, Richard L. Martin II and wife Sherrie, Greentown; daughter, Cynthia M. Salmons and husband Scott, Kokomo; grandchildren, Kyle L. Martin, and Danielle Martin, both of Greentown, Sarah Frank, Wade Salmons, and Kelly Foreit, all of Kokomo; brothers, Edward L. Cessna, Sacramento, Calif., Richard J. Cessna, Garland, Texas, and David “Butch” Cessna, Kokomo; sister, Roberta G. Lawson, Kokomo; special brother-in-law, Kellis Martin Jr., Kokomo; and special sister-in-law, Geneva Bonen, Kokomo.
Patricia is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard L. Martin; and brothers, William L. Cessna, Russell L. Cessna and Raymond O. Cessna.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main St., Kokomo, with Pastor Jeff Sexton officiating. Burial will be in Albright Cemetery, Kokomo. Calling will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Messages may be e-mailed to [email protected]
