Obituary

Janie C. Bailey, 87, of San Antonio, TX passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Savannah Grand Assisted Living in Columbus, GA. She was born October 30, 1928 in San Antonio, TX to her late parents William and Eda Chapman. As a single mom raising three children, she put herself through school and achieved a position at Hixson Properties of San Antonio where she retired.

Mrs. Bailey also was an active volunteer as a driver for cancer patients with American Cancer Society. She loved her family and will be missed by all that knew her.

Along with her parents, Janie is preceded in death by her husband, Perry Bailey (Note: this is probably the correct Perry Bailey, Jr); daughter, Julie Ann Haag; son, James Scott Haag, and three brothers. She is survived by son, Stephen (Mary) Haag of Fortson, GA; three grandchildren, Ben Haag, Jessie Haag and Bailey Haag; great grandchild, Arthur Haag; nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.

Public Visitation will begin 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Goetz Funeral Home and will continue until 12:00 noon. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 PM Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Sunset Memorial Park in San Antonio with Reverend Jim Price officiating.
