Eva Bell Burkeen, 96 of Dexter died Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Murray Calloway County Hospital.

She Retired from Boones Laundry after 35 years;and was a member of Independence Methodist Church.

Born February 22, 1915 in Calloway County, she was the daughter of the late Galon and Hattie Chapman.

On March 5, 1930 she married Leon Burkeen, who preceded her in death; also preceding her in death, a infant son, Jerry Thomas Burkeen; one daughter, Gail Brukeen; a granddaughter, Patricia Gail Burkeen; one sister Eula Smith; two brothers, J.C. Chapman & E.G. Chapman; one daughter-in-law, Ann Burkeen.

She is survived by four sons, William Glen Burkeen and wife Rose Mary, Charles Burkeen, Eugene Burkeen and wife Mickie, Gary Burkeen and wife Ava; two daughters, Elaine Nimmo and husband Larry, Frances Goode and husband Curtis; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday. March 16,2011 at Imes – Miller Funeral Home Rev. Kendrick Lewis & Rev Howard Welch will officiate, Burial will follow in Brooks Chapel Cemetery.

The Family will receive visitors from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 15, 2011 At the Funeral Home.
