Marie Hortense Charest, daughter of Pierre Charest and Archange Landry, was born on 16 Nov 1852 in Rimouski and baptized on 17 Nov 1852 at Saint Simon in Rimouski, Québec, Canada. She married Pierre Bélanger, son of Antoine Bélanger and Olympie Bérubé, on 28 Feb 1870 at Saint Mathieu de Rioux in Rimouski. The family immigrated several years later to the United States and settled in Lewiston, Androscoggin, Maine. Hortense was widowed in 1920. She died at age 86 and was interred in Saint Peter's Cemetery in Lewiston.
