Carmel Bernadette Charest, daughter of Armand Charest and Florida Champagne, married Milferd Harold Voisine, son of Philip Voisine and Juliette Dumond, on 14 Oct 1961. The wedding, a double ceremony at Holy Cross Church in Lewiston, was also the venue for the marriage of her sister Claire Anita Charest. Carmel was widowed just four years later.

Carmel then married Gerard Desjardins, son of Roger Desjardins and Annette Beaulieu. She was widowed for the second time in 1982, when her firefighter husband died in the line of duty.

Her third husband was Harvard Stanley Brassbridge, whom she married on 3 Aug 1991 in Maine. Carmel and Harvard moved to Surprise, Arizona. She returned with her husband to Maine in 2010, so that she could spend her final days with her family. Carmel died at the home of her sister Muriel Charest Rivard in Lisbon.

Sources include Maine marriage records, the Lewiston Daily Sun 31 Oct 1961, the Social Security Death Index, the Sun Journal (Lewiston, ME) 29 Aug 2010, the Portland Press Herald 29 Aug 2010, and the Bridgton News 2 Sep 2010, as well as records for her first two husbands. Please note that Maine marriage records suggest that her first wedding took place on 1 Oct 1961, while the newspaper account of that double wedding indicates 14 Oct 1961.
