"Carrie Sperry, wife of Lester Chase died at the family home on Main street, Schenevus, Friday morning at 2 'clock, December 1st. The funeral services were held from the Methodist Episcopal church, Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. Loyd A. Duren officiating. Schenevus Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, of which organization the deceased was a member for twenty-one years, had charge of the ritualistic services. Carrie Sperry was born February 17, 1874, the daugter of Samuel and Jane (Tripp) Sperry. She was married to Lester Chase, March 31st, 1897. Mrs. Chase is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Percy Varnum, two sons, Foster L. and Loren R. Chase, and a sister, Miss Harriet Sperry, of New York city, one brother, Loren Sperry of Cooperstown. For a year past Mrs. Chase has been in failing health and for several months a great sufferer. The sympathy of a large circle of friends is extended to the bereaved family. The interment was made in the family plot in Schenevus cemetery."
