"The death of Mrs. Walter Buell, aged 61, formerly of this village occurred suddenly on Tuesday night about 9 o'clock. Death was due to a heart attack. Miss Winifred Chase was born in Binghamton on December 11, 1886, the daughter of Henry and Celia (Wedge) Chase. She was married on November 26, 1904 to Mr. Buell and shortly after that moved to this vicinity where she spent her life. First settling in Pierstown, they remained until about twenty-four years ago when they moved to Cooperstown. This spring they moved to a farm near Schuyler Lake. Surviving are her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Frank Bausinger of Manlius and Mrs. Dennis J. Murphy of Boston, Mass., a nephew, Amos Powell of Phoenixville, Pa., three grandchildren, Eugene Eighmey who is stationed in the south Pacific with the U. S. Navy, Rexford Rutan of Oneonta and Dennis J. Murphy, Jr., of Boston. She was a member of the Frist Baptist Church of Cooperstown. Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Ingalls Funeral home with the Rev. Theodore L. Conklin officiating. Burial was in Lakewood cemetery."
