"Mrs. Zillah L. Butts, aged 61, of Cooperstown, died Wednesday morning, July 6, at her home. Mrs. Butts was born October 27, 1904, in Portsmouth, R. I., the daughter of Andrew and Grace (Wilcox) Chase. She was a graduate of the New Bedford, Mass. High School and Bridgewater State Teachers College in Brockton, Mass. She was married to Harmon J. Butts on June 30, 1946. Mrs. Butts was a school teacher. She was a member of the Trinity Methodist Church in New Bedford. Surviving are her husband; two sons, John Bolton of Brockton, Mass. and James Bolton of Alexandria, Va.; six grandchildren, and her mother, Mrs. Grace Gifford of Cooperstown. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. on Saturday, July 9, from the Ottman Funeral Home in Cherry Valley, with the Rev. Richard P. Weld, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Cooperstown, officiating. Burial will be in Springfield Center Cemetery."
