From Shanghai, they relocated to Seattle, where their only child, Norman, was born a year later. C.Y. always encouraged Norm to strive for excellence in all areas of his life … however as a "kid at heart" he made sure to balance academic achievement with family fun - fishing, clamming, trips to Disneyland, Husky football and basketball games!
After retiring from Boeing, he and Polly travelled extensively around the world (especially enjoying cruises), socialized during mahjong and poker parties, and spent quality time with family. They truly lived life to its fullest during their 56 years of marriage, until Polly was called to heaven in May 2003. C.Y. was especially proud of attending his grandkids' special events and was their #1 fan. His legacy continued to grow, and in the later years of his life, time with his great grandchildren was truly joyful … lots of noise, cartoons, candy and laughing.
His life and legacy will continue to be celebrated by Peizhen, his 2nd wife, his son, Norm (Sheryl), three grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and 2 sisters.
He will be sorely missed by us all! A private family service was held.
Remembrances may be made to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
Arrangements under the direction of Sunset Hills Funeral Home, Bellevue, WA.
