Marlys Ann Anderson, age 56 of St. Peter, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 1994 at her home in St. Peter. Services were Sunday, June 26, 1994 at Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Peter, with Pastor Paul Krupinski officiating. Interment was in Red Oak Grove Lutheran Cemetery, Blooming Prairie.

Marlys was born on May 9, 1938 in Blooming Prairie to Lawrence and Mildred Peterson Christianson. She attended school and graduated from high school there. She married Donald E. Anderson on June 30, 1957 in Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church, Blooming Prairie. They lived in that area for a long time until moving to St. Peter in May of 1986. They lived in Iowa for nine years, having lived in Oskaloosa and Gowrie, Iowa.

She died of complications, after a long battle with A.L.S., commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts, and oil painting. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W., Blooming Prairie, and was also a Past President of this Auxiliary. She was a long time Girl Scout Leader, a 4-H leader, and was a 4-H Gold Key Award Holder in her youth.

Survivors include her husband Don, St. Peter; three daughters, Colette (Kevin) Tauer, New Ulm, Jodi (Robert) Garland, New Ulm, Amy (Lorin) Slauson III, Chaska; one son, Troy and his wife Jennifer, Plymouth; four grandchildren, Nicole, Jeffrey, Christopher, and Nicholas; three brothers, L. Dean Christianson, and wife Sharon, Blooming Prairie, Nolan, and wife Linda, Blooming Prairie, Terry, Marian, IA; one sister, Diane (Jim) Fisher, Brooklyn Park.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother Douglas. Arrangements by Klein Funeral Home, St. Peter.
