Mrs. Marcus Berry Dies in California
Mrs. Sarah Claiborn Berry, 78, a King County pioneer died Monday in La Mesa, Calif., her home in recent years. Funeral services will be held tomorrow with burial in Hill Grove Cemetery, Des Moines. Mrs. Berry was born in Council Bluffs, IA. She settled on a homestead near Angle Lake with her parents Isaac and Mary Clairborn in 1888. After her marriage to Marcus Berry, they lived in the Bow Lake area many years. Mr. Berry, a farmer, died in 1950. Survivors are a son Lloyd M. Berry, Seattle; two daughters Mrs. Edward Chichester, Port Orchard and Mrs. Vern Magnuson, La Mesa, CA with whom she had lived. Ten grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
