Gilbert Daniel Clark, 69, passed away at his home on December 2, 2014 with his wife and daughter by his side.

Gilbert was born on February 20, 1945 in Granville County to the late Thomas Fenton Clark and Louise Atkins Clark.

He retired from Kroger Food Company, and then went on to invent the Holland Grill and obtained several other patents for grill manufacturing.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda W. Clark and his daughter, Cynthia Clark Causey, her husband Jeff, and three grandchildren, William, Caroline, and Claire Causey. Also surviving is his sister, Brenda Clark and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Gilbert was preceded in death by his brother, Sherwood Clark.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm at Apex Funeral Home on Friday, December 5th. A service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 6th at Apex Funeral Home with a graveside service following at Mountain Creek Baptist Church, Oxford NC with the Reverend James Shelley officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Transitions LifeCare, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
