David Bruce Clark, 63, of Woodstock, GA died suddenly on May 11, 2010, after a life of kindness, quick humor, and generosity.

Dave was the son of the late Ralph and Julia Clark. He graduated from Bass High School, and attended Georgia Tech. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam where he earned a Purple Heart. His undergraduate and graduate degrees were completed at Georgia State University. Dave began his work career at Sears, and then started his own computer company, Professional Consultants, Inc. which he ran for over 25 years.

Dave is survived by his wife, Janice Gault Clark, his siblings, Linda Clark (Murry Bentley) of Towson, MD, Charles (Sharon) Clark of Douglasville, Judy (Jef) Walker of Winter Park, FL, Larry (Charlotta) Clark of Lilburn, Cristy Clark (Nick Adams) of Chattanooga, TN, his cousin, Jane Clark of Decatur, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dave loved sports. He was the Most Valuable Player of the 1965 Bass High School football team, which had a 0-10 record for the year. He played golf at every opportunity all over the world, he ran with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain. Dave was a devoted team member in the "geezer" basketball and baseball leagues in Woodstock.

Dave loved learning. A natural curiosity kept him in college for 10 years, until Georgia State suggested he pick a major and graduate already. His interests ranged from Civil War history, measuring astronomical distances and the notion of dark matter, to mastering Guitar Hero and perfecting dovetail joints. He owned a personal fleet of cars and showed the same long-term devotion to his cars as he did his friends.

Dave loved people. He maintained close friendships with high school buddies, met regularly with his Georgia Tech friends, and had a standing breakfast date with the Burger Inn Buddies. He was magnanimous with his time, talents and resources. As the creator of the Coley Grant Morris Award, Dave started a Clark family tradition. This gift honored an old family friend and was given at Christmas solely to delight the unsuspecting recipient. Dave loved people and people loved Dave.
