Arelda Simmons Clark, 78, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2015, in Idaho Falls, ID of natural causes. She was born on July 4, 1937 in Ammon, ID to Franklin Clayson Simmons and Emma Arelda Coulson. She was the fifth of five children born to the couple. Shortly after her entrance into the world her mother passed away, suddenly, from complications of an abscessed tooth. She was raised by her father and step-mother in the Ammon and Pocatello areas.

Arelda married the love of her life, Lloyd Clark, on December 2, 1968. They moved to the Ucon area in 1974, where she has resided since. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a member of the Coltman 1st ward. She enjoyed visiting teaching, and loved to knit hats for children in the ward. In addition to her love for knitting, Arelda was also an avid quilter. She had a gift for putting together unique color combinations that made her beautiful hand-made quilts cherished by many.
She was a lively lady with a young soul. In her later years she often adopted her son Adam's friends as her own. In turn, these friends would check up on her like they would their own mother. She was adored by her grandchildren, who gave her the nickname "Yankee Doodle Grandma" because of her birthday. She loved to make and give things to others, and felt it her duty to make you laugh at least once in a conversation. She will be missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Regina Gay; daughter, Donna Lee Minton Clark; sister, Emma Taylor; grandson, Michael Craig Alvey; and her husband, Lloyd Clark.

She is survived by: daughter, Mary Jo Maruda (Stafford) of Vacaville, CA; daughter, Angela Lyn White (Gregg) of Fowler, CO; daughter Virginia Bialick (Bill) of Clarksville, MD; son, Adam Lloyd Clark (Krissy) of Ucon, ID; brother, Lynn Simmons of Pocatello, ID; sister, Flora Grover of Idaho Falls, ID; and brother, Frank Simmons of Layton, UT.
