Different censuses show his occupations as salesman and carpenter.

Moved from Waverly, NY to Newark, New Jersey around 1908. His older brother, Charles, had moved to Newark about a decade earlier. Also, Josie's parents moved to Newark as well.

Died of the flu in Saint Barnabas Hospital.

He is buried with his wife's parents and with his brother's wife (who was a daughter of his wife's parents).
