Plymouth: Ruth C. Bickford 101, died May 8, 2014 at a Pittsfield health care facility. Ruth was born in Plymouth January 29, 1913 the daughter of Herbert E and Elsie Mae (Eaton) Clark. She attended Plymouth Schools and was a graduate of Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield. Ruth married Carl Bickford in Bangor on Aug 4, 1934.

Ruth was employed as a book keeper for five years in Boston. She and Carl returned to Plymouth and she went to work at Pittsfield Woolen Mill where she worked for over forty years. On March 22, 2014 Ruth received the Boston Post Gold Headed Cane as the oldest citizen of Plymouth, an honor she was very proud of. She was a very talented artist and was recognized as a "Maine Artist". She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Plymouth. A member of the Newport Business and Professional Women's Club, and a former member of the Penquis Rock and Mineral Club of Dover-Foxcroft. Ruth was predeceased by her parents, her husband Carl and by her brother Dwight Clark.
