LAST TRIBUTE PAID TO MRS LIZZIE E CLAY
----------
Funeral At "Marchmont" Is Attended By Many Relatives and Friends.
----------
BURIED BY HUSBAND
----------
Their Death Distinct Loss To The People of Bourbon County.
----------
PARIS, Ky., July 23 - The funeral services of Mrs Lizzie Alexander Clay, wife of the late James E Clay, were held Saturday morning at "Marchmont" at 10 o'clock, in the presence of a large circle of relatives and friends. Elder Carey E Morgan, who conducted the services, spoke of the beautiful Christian character of Mrs Clay and the great help she rendered to the church. A choir composed of Dr and Mrs Frank Fithian, Miss Flora Hill and Mr Clay Sutherland, rendered "Cast Thy Burden On the Lord," "Art Thou Weary," and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." At the grave, as the body was lowered to its final resting place beside her late husband, the choir sang "Christians, Good Night."

In the death of Mr Clay and his estimable wife, who passed away within two days of each other, the county and the racing interests of Central Kentucky lost a most valued citizen and the Paris Christian Church a most useful member. The entire community shares in the double sorrow and bereavement of the family and many expressions of sympathy have been heard.
