Faye attended Lindberg High School in St. Louis, Missouri and graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. As a business owner, she made her dream a reality and created Star Center Gymnastics, Dance and Cheer, originally known as Faye's Gymnastics Stars. Through her determination and her strong will, she opened Star Center in August 2000, further pursuing her dreams of having a well-rounded gym with a girl's and boy's competitive gymnastics program, and also cheerleading and dance. Faye's passion for gymnastics and children shined every day she was in the gym. She was an amazing coach but an even more amazing and loving person. She constantly gave with everything she had- her smile, her spirit, her drive, her love for people, and her generosity.
Faye is survived by her husband, Dennis Artale (Faye and Dennis just celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary on May 29, 2006); her mother, Janice Clayton; sister, Candy Clayton; twin sister, Lynn Clayton; and Faye's cats- Lucky, Inkie, Marbly, Yoda, and Oreo Cookie. Also, Faye had a very special place in her heart for all the Star Center staff, children, and parents. Faye will be deeply missed. However, her spirit will remain with us, and we will hold her dear to our hearts forever.
Services were held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 8, 2006, at Harrell Funeral Home, 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin. Burial followed at Live Oak Cemetery on Twin Creek Road, Manchaca, Texas. [Based on an obituary and photo obtained 5 June 2006 from harrellfuneralhomes.com,]
