Julia Bukla Code, Born April 6, 1928 and Born to eternal life February 7, 2007. She was 78.
Julia was born on Bulka Road, Parsonville, PA a daughter of Feodor and Katherine (Makarchuk) Bulka.
She married Joseph A. Code on February 14, 1949. Julia lived in Puerto Rico for many years with her husband and had seven children. After raising her family, she returned to college, receiving a Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Education degrees.
She maintained a summer residence in Houtzdale, where she enjoyed visiting with her friends and neighbors, and tending her garden in Happy Valley.
Julia is survived by her loving husband, Joseph; children, Kathleen Gomez and her husband Carlos, Maureen Murphy and her husband Christopher, Joseph Code, Jr. Brian and his wife Evelyn Torres, Nancy Maza and her husband Daniel and Christopher Code and his wife Xochilt.
Also surviving are grandchildren Monica, Mark, Alexandra, Victoria, Christopher, Andres and Megan and great granddaughter, Elizabeth; sisters Mary Larson and Helen Schaetzl and her husband Wilbur and a brother John Bulka and his wife Felicia and many nieces, nephews, friends and special neighbors, Jim and Jennifer Berlair.
Julia was predeceased by her daughter Karen and a granddaughter, Catherine.
Friends will be receive today from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and on Saturday from 9:00 -10:30 am at the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc 2550 Union St. Ramey, A funeral home services will be held at 2:00 pm today by the Very Rev. Fr. James E. Poorman in the funeral home.
A Great Church Parastas Services will be held at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ramey on Sat. Feb. 10, 2007 at 11:00 am with the Very Rev. Fr. James E. Poorman and interment will follow in St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Ramey.
