She was born Jan. 11, 1922, in Trimble County, Ky., the daughter of Audie and Georgia Wright Colbert. She enjoyed many of the simple things in life and lived a rich life by using that philosophy. Some her favorite pleasures were flowers of all kinds; relaxing while using her sewing skills for family projects or creating her own quilts. She enjoyed helping others at Signature Healthcare for more than 30 years. She worshiped at Antioch Baptist Church in Trimble County for more than 70 years, where she was a Sunday school teacher and a church treasurer.
She is survived by one son, Jim Ball of Lexington; one daughter, Paulette Tomlinson of Bedford; two sisters, Roberta Marsh and Ann Bird, both of Bedford; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hubert T. Ball, whom she married on July 15, 1939 and was married to for 50 years; and three brothers, Darrell, Merchant and Herbert Colbert.
Services were at the Ransdell Funeral Home in Bedford. Burial was at the Bedford Cemetery.
