Musician. Bass player for the 1960's folk rock band The Association. He was one of the founding members along with Jules Alexander, Terry Kirkman, Russ Giguere, Bob Paige, and Ted Bluechel Jr. He appears on the songs "Along Comes Mary," "Cherish," "Never My Love," and "Windy." He was one of three of the founding members to remain a constant in the group. Although he rarely sang any lead vocals, his bass riffs are very pronounced within the sound of The Association during their run as one of the hottest bands in the 60's, and early 70's. Although he was pretty much a lynchpin of the group's sound, he was often replaced in the studio with a studio musician. He was the group's only major sucess casuality, as he developed a drug habit, which became a full blown addiction by the late 60's. It was his death that pretty much sent the group into a state of flux for the remainder of the 70's, the group would split briefly for a time, then, reunite in the 80's, with Del Ramos taking Cole's place as bassist. As it often is with artists of the 50's and 60's, Cole would find irony after his death, as his son, Jordan became a member of The Association, the very same band that Brian himself found his fame.

Cause of Death: Heroin Overdose.
