A funeral mass for Bernard F. Coleman, 73, was celebrated on Monday, Dec. 15 at St. Joseph Ukrainian Catholic Church. Visitation was held Dec. 14 at Nelson Funeral Home in Park Ridge. Interment occurred in All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines. He died Dec. 10 at Glenbrook Hospital.
Mr. Coleman was a lover of people, beaches, boating and football. He was a past commander of American Legion Post #688 and state commander of the Catholic War Veterans Post #188. Mr. Coleman earned his Masters in financial services from Loyola University.
Mr. Coleman was preceded in death by his wife, Ada Frances; and his sister, Alanna Murphy; he is survived by his children, Mary Jo Patterson, Edward (Karen), Terence, and Christopher (Suzanne); grandchildren Kevin, Nichole, Joshua, Victoria, Sean, Rachel, Eric, and Abigail; and siblings Cathy Bandurski, Marijo Basic, and Pat Coleman.
