Adeline Bernard, age 76, of Springfield, IL, died at 1:10 pm, Friday, June 24, 2011 at St. Joseph's Home.
She was born on April 10, 1935 in Lewistown, IL to Thomas G. and Mary "Mayme" Barrett Coleman. Adeline married Kenneth L. Bernard on December 11, 1954 and he preceded her in death on October 4, 2003. She is also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Ellen and three brothers Jack, Raymond and Lawrence.
Surviving are her son, Tom Bernard, of Springfield, IL, sister, Sarah Dress, of The Villages, FL, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Adeline was a member of St. Agnes Church and was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She retired as a secretary from the Illinois National Guard after 45 years of service.
Private Services: Private family services will be held. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
