Funeral Services for Ms. Ruth Dean Austin of West Monroe, La will be 10am Monday, August 10, 2015 at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in West Monroe. Interment will follow at Chatham Cemetery in Chatham under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe. Visitation will be from 5pm until 8pm Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in West Monroe.
Ms. Austin was born October 13, 1942 in Ansley, La to the union of David and Ethel Coleman and passed from this life on August 7, 2015 at the age of 72. She was a lifelong resident of West Monroe and was the mother and caretaker of a very large family.
She is preceded in death by her father, David “Dave” O. Coleman; her mother, Ethel Lucille Causey Coleman; her step-mother, Gertha Hatworth Coleman; her husband, Bo Austin; her son, Greg Austin; her brothers, Ray Coleman, R.C. Coleman and Donald Coleman; her sisters, Ethelene Coleman Sanderson and Eunice Coleman Myers Hudson.
Survivors include her children, Lori Bailey & husband Tony Odom of West Monroe, Rodney Austin & wife Shannon of Sevierville, TN, Tammy Hair of Luna, La.; her siblings, Harold Coleman & wife Deanna of West Monroe, Ricky Coleman & wife Kathy of West Monroe, Odell Coleman of Eros, La.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
