Nov 30, 1927 - Humboldt Republican - Kathrine C Colgate, daughter of John and Mary Colgate was born at Battle Sussex, England April 28, 1852. She died at her home in Bradgate after a short illness Nov 23, 1927 at the age of 75 years, 6 months, and 26 days.
She was united in marriage to David R Benge at Palsham Church, Preston Brighton, England, March 1, 1873, where she was confirmed at the age of 15 years to the church of England. Leaving England June 30, 1874, arrived at Ft. Dodge July 18, moving from there to Humboldt county and since then residing here.
Deceased leaves to mourn her loss two sons and six daughters: Martha Howell of Power Lake, N.D.; Katherine Wallace of Ocheyedan; Bertha Blomker of Rutland; Dorothy Hessler of Cut Bank, Mont; Edith Dailey of Bradgate; Estella Siefert of Rawlins, Wyo; Herbert Benge of Bradgate; and Henry Benge of Flaxton, N.D.; David Benge, her eldest son, of Coal Wood, Mont, passed away Nov 19, just four days before his mother; forty grandchildren; and two brothers in England; beside a host of friends who mourn her loss.
Interment was made in the Union cemetery at Humboldt. The pall bearers were six grandchildren.
