TERRE HAUTE — Elliott "E.J." Collier, 64, passed away on Jan. 27, 2011, at Westview Medical Center in Indianapolis. He was born April 2, 1946, in Terre Haute, to Elliott "Buddy" and Lillie B. Wells Collier. He retired from the Chicago Tribune Newspaper Company after 30 years of service.
He is loved and survived by his sons, Michael Collier of Terre Haute, Elliott Collier of Indianapolis and Caseisus Collier of Chicago; stepson, Robert Porter of Chicago; siblings, Cellianne Collier of Atlanta, Elizabeth Boga and husband Tommie of Terre Haute, Lisa Collier of Terre Haute, Vanessa Collier of Indianapolis, Lillian Watkins of Louisiana, Inell Reed of Danville, Ill., Jackie Hammond and husband Wesley of Terre Haute, Eldridge Collier and wife Barbara of Chicago, Lamar Collier of Los Angeles, Leo Collier of St. Louis, Marcellus Collier of Terre Haute, Tyrone Collier of Terre Haute, Eugene Black of Terre Haute and Stanley Williams of Terre Haute; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Katherine Moore, Rosie and Juliet Collier, Carolyn S. Young and Sheila Wilson; and one brother, Roosevelt Collier.
