DORIS L. BENZINGER, 88, of Monroeville, Ind., passed away on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016 at Adams Heritage in Monroeville. Born on Feb. 18, 1928 in Memphis, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late F. Leon Collier and the late Bonnie Doris (Bourland) Collier. She married Elmer F. Benzinger on Nov. 8, 1947 and he preceded her in death on July 15, 2010. Doris was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Monroeville. Doris was a homemaker and had also worked at Magnavox and Farmsworth Capehart. Surviving are her son, E. Wayne Benzinger of Hoagland, Ind., son, D. Michael (Debbie) Benzinger of Roanoke, Ind.; daughter, Donna J. Borror of Hoagland; son, Mark A. (Suzie) Benzinger of Hoagland; brother, John Collier of Alaska; brother, Pearson Collier of Kansas City, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Preceding Doris in death were two sisters, Joyce Trayler and Carolyn Muller. Funeral service is 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Rev. David Williamson officiating. Interment will follow at Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne, Ind. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville, and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. Preferred memorials are to St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Monroeville.
