BEVERLY ANN COLLIN CARLSON, 82, of Memphis, died May 1, 2013 at her Cordova home. Born September 25, 1930, she was the daughter of Bessie Furman Collin and Herbert Collin of DeKalb, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Barbara. She leaves her husband of 62 years, Elvin; sons, Gary and David (Susie); three grandchildren, Lauren, Margaret and Jack, several cousins, nieces and nephews, she also had special affection for her godchild, Deanna Paulsen of Sturgeon Bay, WI and for her "other sister", Celie Donohue of Moline, IL. At different times, she was a teacher (Lindenwood Day Care) and a church secretary. She enjoyed flowers, doing art work and cooking (pecan pie and guacamole were two of her specialities). She volunteered several places, most recently at Shelby Farms. She was a lifelong Lutheran. With all of her varied interests, her family was always at the top of the list. Visitation will be May 5, 5-8 p.m. and funeral May 6 at 10 a.m. at Memphis Funeral Home, 3700 North Germantown Road. Burial will be May 7 at 10:30 a.m. in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church or the Woodruff-Fontaine House Museum.
