Carroll R. "Randy" Collins, 63, went to be with his Lord on September 23, 2011. Randy was born in Salem, Virginia on August 25, 1948 and was preceded in death by his mother and father, Raburn and Nina Bowles Collins. Randy was a graduate of William Fleming High School, class of '66, later served in the Naval Reserves before becoming a machinist at Norfolk and Western Railroad. He left the railroad in 1980 and moved to Birmingham, Alabama where he founded his company, United Turbo and Fuel, Inc. He was an avid motorcyclist and shared that love with his family and many friends. Left to cherish his memory are his wife and soul mate, Kathleen "Katie" K. Collins; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Tommy Simmons, their two daughters, Jessica and Kayleen Simmons; son and daughter-in-law, Cary C. Collins and wife Tawnya, his two children, Christian and Danielle Collins; brothers, Ray Lee Collins and wife Sherry Collins of Richmond, Va., and Barry Neal and wife Freida Collins of Roanoke, Va.; sister, Mary Waldron and husband, Jack of Roanoke, Va; his mother-in-law, Virginia J. Kelley of Troutville, Va; sisters-in-law, Gloria J. Kelley, Nancy K. (Greg) Sexton, Shirley A. Kelley all of Troutville, Va., and Randie K. (Ricky) Morris of Birmingham, Ala., as well as many friends and colleagues, including those who worked side by side with him for over 30 years. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with Chapel services on Monday, September 26 at noon with Justin Baker officiating and burial to follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.
