Serah V. Banotai
age 88, of Belleville, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Evangelical Home Saline. She was born on October 4, 1924 in Ypsilanti, Michigan, daughter of Jesse and Caroline Francis (Van Meter) Collyer.
Serah is survived by one son, Louis P. (Brenda) Banotai, Jr. of Ypsilanti, MI, 10 grandchildren; Mark (Mary) Banotai, Jeff Carter, Debbie (Kirt) Duncan, Mil Guy, Monica (Bob) Jones, Lue (Mark) Pullen, Craig (Charlene) Banotai, Jeff (Mary) Banotai, Laura (Keith) Hollis, Scott (Mike) Banotai, 16 great-grandchildren; Lacey Carter, Justice Carter, Yolanda Baker, Michea Hufford, Sophia Rangel, Rachel Rangel, Darryl Pullen, Josh Pullen, Payton Grubb, Nathan, Julie, Alexander & Annalyse Banotai, Jacob Hollis, Dan Dean & Shaun Jones, 17 great-great grandchildren, and a daughter-in law, Viann Banotai.
Preceded in death by her husband, Louis Banotai, Sr. in 2004, 1 son, Marvin Banotai, 1 granddaughter, Pam Carter, 1 daughter-in- law, Kathaleen Banotai, 1 son-in-law, Jeff Carter and 12 brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Banotai was a member of the Willis United Methodist Church, Willis. She was devoted to her family and took care of many children. She enjoyed her work at Ray's Greenhouse & loved gardening with her grandchildren. She also loved cooking & playing Bingo.
Visitation will be Monday 4-8 PM and Tuesday 2-8 PM with an 11 AM funeral service on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at David C. Brown Funeral Home, 500 E. Huron River Drive, Belleville, MI, with Reverend Reed P. Swanson officiating.
Interment will be in Union-Udell Cemetery, Ypsilanti, MI. Memorial Contributions may be made to Evangelical Home, Saline or to Arbor Hospice & Home Care and would be appreciated by the family.
