Gordon Highlanders, 5th Bn.

Son of Annabella (MacRae) Collyer, of Dollar, and the late Arthur Hamilton Collyer.

Joined the Gordon Highlanders as a private at the outbreak of war, and was in France for over a year before returning home for his commission. He returned to France in October 1916. He was wounded, though not dangerously, on 23/04/1917. Sadly, he was killed by a shell while being conveyed to the rear on a stretcher on the same day.
