Lois Amanda Colt Clark, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, died peacefully on June 7, 2007, in Salt Lake City, Utah from causes incident to age--what she called O-L-D. She was 86 years-old.

Born in Ogden, Utah, on September 11, 1920, to George S. and Amanda Olsen Colt. She was raised in Harbor City, California, and Salt Lake City, Utah. Lois graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City, then attended the University of Utah. She married the love of her life, Norman W. Clark of Farmington, Utah, on November 7, 1945, in the Salt Lake Temple.

Her husband, five children, and 13 grandchildren were the passion and joys of her life. She taught her children by word and deed the importance of faith, family, charity, integrity, humor, and education.

She was preceded in death by her husband Norman, daughter Alice Elaine, and son Stewart Franklin. She is survived by daughter Carol Lois, sons Norman Warren (Marilyn) and Stanford John, daughter by affection Marjorie Spencer (Greg), son-in-law Wayne H. Cannon (Gwen), daughter-in-law Liz Nibley Clark; grandchildren Allison, Clark (Megan), Elizabeth, and Rebecca Cannon; Jeffrey, Katie (Andrew Hutchison), Kimalee (Nate Evans), Connor, Sarah Jayne, and Carson Clark; Lindsay, Chase, and Michael Clark; sister Virginia (Lloyd Prestwich), brother Roland (Rae) and sister-in-law Verginia Colt. Her brothers George and Benjamin preceded her in death.

A faithful, life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she had a fervent testimony of the restored gospel and the atonement and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Mom, whom her children lovingly called "Cutest Mommy," was a wise woman, generous with her means and insights. Her kind, listening ear, delightful humor, and sage advice blessed her family, those she considered her family by affection, her friends and neighbors.

She loved to travel. She visited all seven continents, where she attended many LDS temples. She loved the United States of America and was proud to be an American. Her book and movie choices and her frequent Disneyland visits demonstrated Mom's belief in happy endings. The happiest ending of all is for her to be reunited with our dad, Alice and Stew.

The family wishes to thank Carrie Nelson for her outstanding and loving care of our mother during the last two years of her life. We are also grateful to Home Option Senior Care and Intermountain Homecare for their care and service.

A viewing will be held at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City, Friday, June 8, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Yalecrest First Ward, 1035 South 1800 East, Saturday, June 9, at noon. Prior to the funeral, a viewing will be held at the ward from 10:45-11:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the General Missionary Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
