A native of High Point, NC, Hester moved with her husband and two children to Virginia Beach in 1970. A legal and medical Secretary for many years, she became the cofounder, along with her loving husband Larry, of the Campbell Company (CAMCO) where she spent the last 20 years making it the successful business that it is today.
Hester is survived by her husband of 53 years, Larry Campbell; son, Steve Campbell of Texas (wife Lori); daughter, Christine C. McGuire of Pennsylvania (husband Billy); 4 grandchildren; 18 nieces and nephews; in-laws, Ann Gregory and Bud and Betty Sexton; and brother, Jimmy Coltrane.
Hester was a kind hearted friend to all. She loved her husband, children, and grandchildren unconditionally. She took great pleasure and satisfaction in always putting the needs of others before her own. Her kindness and consideration to others will most certainly provide her with a very special place in Heaven. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and anyone that had the pleasure of knowing this wonderful woman. We all loved her and may she now rest in peace.
The family would also like to extend our special appreciation to the kind staff at Sentara Hospital and our wonderful neighbors who have helped us through this most difficult time. We love you all.
A memorial service to celebrate Hester's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, at the Lynnhaven Chapel and Crematory, 3600 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
