Betty Ruth Bernos-Comer, 78, of Rogersville, Al., died
Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, at Florence Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at
Rogersville Funeral Home, where the funeral service will
follow at 6 p.m. Alex Bayes and Charles Thompson will
officiate. Burial will at 10 a.m. Thursday at Civitan Cemetery,
Rogersville, AL.
Betty was a member of Rogersville Church of Christ.
She worked as the city clerk for the town of Rogersville,
and she retired from the civillian division of the
United States Army Strategic Defense Command as a
travel clerk of 28 yrs.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Lee
Bernos and Ruth Bernos Latham; her grandparents,
who raised her, Henry and Margaret Penny;
Husband, James Harold Comer, Sr;
Son, William Polk Comer; and a brother, William H. Bernos.
Betty is survived by her son, James "Jim" Harold Comer, Jr.,
of Tuscaloosa, AL .
Daughters, Susan (Bill) Stokes, of Florence, Al
Jill (Mike) Ferguson, of Ohio,
Tammy Comer Kubichan of Athens, Al;
Grandchildren, Shana Hammond, Chad Hammond,
Kyla Warden, Bree Hammond, Lauren Corbitt,
and Tyler Kubichan;
Great-grandchildren, Kobe, Kara Paige, Ramsey,
Leighton, Tory, Evan, Kaleb and Alexis.
