Revolutionary War veteran Amos Condit was the son of Daniel Condit and the former Ruth Harrison. As a young man in his teens and early twenties, he had fought for American independence, and is listed on the Condit monument in the churchyard which honors members of the family who had served in the American military during the years 1775-1783. Mr. Condit died at age 43, approximately 20 years after the war ended.
