Mrs. Eliza Aldridge, wife of Joseph Aldridge, died at her home on Fourth Street in the city (Cannelton) on Monday last, about 1 pm. For several months she was bedfast, suffering from tuberculosis. She bore her suffering nobly, always living with the hope that she would recover. She prayed constantly that her life might be spared for the sake of her little children and husband, to whom she was devotedly attached. She is survived by her husband and four small children, besides several brothers and sisters. She was 34 years old.
Before her marriage she was Miss Eliza Connor and was recognized as one of Cannelton's prettiest young ladies. She was a daughter of George Connor and (Susan Mattingly), she was born and raised in this city, where she was popular with many friends. The funeral took place on Wednesday morning from St. Michael's Catholic Church and internment was made in (St. Michael's) Catholic Cemetery. The husband and little family has the heartfelt sympathy of the community in their hours of deepest sorrow.
