Sister Mary Serena Connolly, of Sacred Heart Convent, died at 4 a.m. Sunday in St. John's Hospital.

Born in Chicago, the daughter of Michael and Anne Lyons Connolly, she entered the novitiate of the Dominican Sisters in 1921 and made her profession of vows in 1923.

Prior to her retirement to the Motherhouse Infirmary in 1970, she taught schools in Springfield, Hampshire, Chicago and Granite City in Illinois; Duluth, Minn.; Brawley and Redlands, Calif. She held administrative positions in Granite City and Brawley.

Surviving are one brother, Leo Connolly of Rolling Hills, Calif; two nieces and two nephews.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Convent Chapel with Monsignor William Haug officiating.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
