Eileen was born March 9, 1918, in Springfield, the daughter of Daniel Michael and Mary Margaret Luby Dacy. They preceded her in death.
She married Michael J. Connolly on Oct. 25, 1941. He preceded her in death.
Eileen was a graduate of Ursuline Academy and was a member of the Ursuline Alumni Association. She retired after 27 years of service from American Illinois National Insurance Co., now known as AIG, where she was a supervisor in the coding department.
She was a very active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and served as a Eucharistic minister, extra ordinary minister and a minister of care. She also was a member of the Heavenly Dusters, a group of ladies who cleaned the church.
She also was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Hickey.
She is survived by a son, Dan (wife, Beverly) Connolly of Springfield; two daughters, Michelle (husband, Ken) Campbell of Sherman and Mary Long of Albany, Ga.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Bernadine Gorman of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family will receive friends from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1345 N. Sixth St.
Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Monsignor Thomas P. Holinga, V.F., celebrant.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
