Mrs. Thomas Marjorie (Marge) Barry, 87, of Morris, Illinois, passed away peacefully early Friday morning, August 8, 2008, in her daughter's home in Wauponsee Township, with her loving family by her side.
She was born on February 1, 1921 in Joliet, Illinois, the daughter of John T. and Nellie Fitzpatrick Connolly.
She recieved her education in the Wilmington school system.
Marge married Thomas L. Barry on September 1, 1939, in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Wilmington, Illinois. She was a devoted wife and mother. With her husband, they farmed in Will and Grundy Counties for 34 years. She was employed with Bimet Corp. in Morris for 13 years, retiring in 1986.
Marge enjoyed bingo, league bowling at Echo Lanes in Morris and was an avid Cubs fan. She took the greatest pleasure in spending time with her family, especially her grand and great grandchildren, along with many good friends.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Morris, Illinois, member of Women of the Moose Chapter #544 for 45 years, and a member of the John Martin Steele V.F.W. Women's Auxiliary.
Mrs. Barry is survived by two daughters, Patricia (Ashcraft) (Chuck) Eddy, and Marjorie (Edward) Aldrich, both of Morris, Illinois; two sons, David (Patricia) Barry of Morris, Illinois, and Larry Barry of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Arthur (Rachel) Ashcraft, Barry (Janelle) Aldrich, Ryan (Amy) Aldrich, and Thomas R. Barry, all of Morris, Illinois, Kelly Misewicz of Diamond, Illinois, and Brent Barry, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; seven great grandchildren, Drew and Mollie Aldrich, Haylee Barry, Mathew Misewicz, Grant, Emma, and Aidan Aldrich; one sister, Helen Lamping of Channahon, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her parents; her husband on June 8, 1973; two sons in infancy; son-in-law, Wendell Ashcraft on June 10, 1978; daughter-in-law, Bette Bols Barry on May 21, 2006; one sister, Harriett Reardanz; and two brothers, Gene and Joe Connolly.
