THE VILLAGES, FLORIDA - Stephen F. Connor, 61, of Bourne, MA and The Villages, FL, passed away November 13, 2013 in The Villages Regional Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Annmarie T. (Dillon) Connor and the son of the late John and Victoria (Moro) Connor.
Mr. Connor, born in Attleboro, MA, was a graduate of Assumption College, Bridgewater State University and Western New England College. He was a teacher at the Wareham Middle School for 34 years before retiring in 2008.
He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Pocasset and a former member of the Wareham Lodge of Elks #1548 and he was active in Bourne Youth Sports Leagues.
Mr. Connor enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his two grandsons, playing recreational sports, working around the house and yard, and reading history & biography books.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Annmarie (Dillon) Connor; two sons, Christopher Connor of Guilderland, NY and his wife Christine, and Michael Connor of Stoughton and his wife Danielle; five brothers, John Connor of Zionsville, IN, Larry Connor of Voluntown, CT, Bill Connor of Kennewick, WA, Brian Connor of Alexandria, VA and Paul Connor Foxborough; a sister, Gloria O'Brien of Norton and two grandsons, Dillon and Jackson Connor.
Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, November 17th at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 18th at St. John the Evangelist Church, Pocasset. A private family burial will be held at Oakland Grove Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
