A Sporting Man's Death. – Fred Cook, a well-known sporting man, who has lived in Portland ever since his 5th year, died Tuesday afternoon, in his room at 189 West Part streets, of consumption, aged 29 years. Mr. Cook had trouble with his lungs for a long time, and recently went to Southern California and Arkansas in search of relief. But his trip south was made too late, and he returned home to die. Mr. Cook leaves a married sister. The funeral will take place from Holman's undertaking parlors, Friday morning, at 10:30 o'clock.
