Geo. C. Cook, Lumberman, Dies Friday
George C. Cook, 67 widely known on the Pacific coast in the lumber and electrical industry, died suddenly Friday at Portland. Funeral services were held in that city Monday.
Mr. Cook was born in Chicago October 22 1863, and graduated from the University of Michigan with the class of 1885. He was noted as an athlete and football player at Michigan.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Melvora Cook; three sons, Frederick, Churchill and Russell Cook of Portland, and a daughter, Mrs. George B. McGill of Tacoma.
For 20 years Mr. Cook was manager of the American Cross Arms Company in Tacoma and Chehalis. He had but recently moved to Portland from Tacoma. Mr. Cook was a member of the Phi Delta Phi fraternity at Michigan.
