Died, Aug. 17, at her home, Springfield, Mrs. Ellen Cook, aged 70 years. Mrs. Cook was the wife of William Cook and was born in Shevington, Lancashire, England, May 23, 1828. She was married Sept. 30, 1850, left the land of her birth for the United States, arriving at Springfield in 1857, where she has resided ever since.
Mrs. Cook enjoyed the esteem of a large circle of friends and acquaintances. She bore her sufferings with true Christian fortitude and the end was peaceful.
The funeral service will be this afternoon at the family residence. The interment will be made in Oak Ridge cemetery.
