SPRINGFIELD - Felicia E. Cook, 77, of Springfield passed away on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at home as a result of a brain tumor.

She was born on April 16, 1931, in Chicago, the daughter of John and Frances Kanis. She married Raymond Cook on July 8, 1950.

Felicia retired from St. John's Hospital after 15 years of service. She was of the Catholic faith. She will be remembered as our "angel on earth" and as a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond C. Cook of Springfield; three sons, John (wife, Tish) of Dawson, James (wife, Paula) of Edinburg and Joseph Cook of Springfield; six daughters, Jean Marcelino of Ohio, Joann (husband, Rich) Romanotto of Arizona, Jane (husband, Harold) Buis-Henry of Dawson, Janet (husband, Tony) Stickelmaier of Cantrall, Juliann (husband, Kurt) Spradlin of Riverton and Jeannette Clark of Springfield; 20 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Kanis of Chicago; and half sister, Therese Marcott of Sycamore.

Memorials may be made to Memorial Hospice.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 2009, at Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home, 530 N. Fifth St. A prayer service will be held at 4:45 p.m. prior to visitation. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, at St. Cabrini Church, with Father Richard Chiola officiating. Burial will be at Camp Butler Cemetery.
