Services for Margaret Cook Atkinson of Thomasville are at 2:00pm Tuesday February 14 at Allen & Allen Chapel. The Rev. Ramon Hernandez and Rev. John Stephens will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Atkinson died Saturday, February 11, 2006, at Plantation Manor.

Born Sept 12, 1924 in Ambrose Ga, she was the daughter of the late Luther Benjamin & Rossie Lee Cravey Cook. She was the beloved wife of William B. Atkinson, who survives, on Oct 18, 1946 at 1st United Methodist Church in Thomasville. Mrs. Atkinson was retired from Southwestern State Hospital where she was one of the first RN's to work there.

Mrs. Atkinson graduated from Coolidge High School then went on to graduate from Gallanger School of Nursing in Washington, D.C. She was a member of Dawson Street United Methodist Church where she taught women's adult Sunday school class. She also taught MYF & young people Sunday school class at Fairview Methodist Church, she was a member of the Eastern Star and Gideons International and also a Red Cross Volunteer.

She was the devoted mother of Rossie Atkinson Tullis & son –in-law Terry Tullis of Thomasville, sons William B. & Lea Atkinson, Jr. of Martinez, Ga, and Richard B Atkinson of High Springs, Fl. Most loving grandmother of Bo Atkinson, Dina Atkinson, Robert Atkinson, Rachel Wolf and Richard Atkinson. Greatest great grandmother to Taylor, Destiny, Lee and Xander Atkinson.

She is preceded in death by one sister Cora Sybyl Cook Nixon and brothers Robert Charles Cook, John Luther Cook, Wilbur Benjamin Cook and Fisher Guyton Cook.
